The Current Status and Promotion Strategies of Digital Transformation in Companies

Abstract

The digital transformation, which is an essential requirement of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, is bringing about rapid changes in Korea's manufacturing and service industries. Accordingly, there is a need for specific methods to successfully promote digital transformation. This study identifies the status of digital transformation in 2021 and 2022 and proposes strategies to facilitate it. For this analysis, raw data from the 'SW Convergence Survey' for the years 2021 and 2022 were collected to analyze the current state of digital transformation. In conclusion, while companies exhibit a strong willingness to strengthen their competitiveness through digital transformation, it suggests that additional efforts are necessary to overcome challenges at specific stages (integrating services with existing products and so on). To this end, it is important to establish a clear vision and strategy, ensure strong commitment and leadership from executives, and provide education and communication so that all members of the organization understand and resonate with the importance of digital transformation.
