Abstract

The design of a sub-terahertz (sub-THz) tapered rectangular dielectric rod antenna is presented in this paper. The top and bottom section's calculation formulas are provided based on the work modes. The wave won't reflect on the antenna's border surface to prevent standing waves inside the structure. The proposed design strategy is based on the modes of operation of a rectangular dielectric waveguide and includes a calculation for antenna length. Using this method, an operational antenna operating at sub-THz frequencies range was successfully designed. The antenna is designed on a Polypropylene ER182 substrate with dimensions of 0.654mm×0.327mm×12.83mm. According to our design, the antenna gain will rise as the length expands. The outcomes of the investigation substantiate that the antenna, as designed, fulfils the stipulated criteria across the entire frequency range.
